All About Me!
I have been an educator in North Carolina since 1992. I started my career as an elementary teacher at a Title 1 school in Gaston County. I moved to Charlotte in 1996 when I had my first child, Lauryn. I taught third grade at McAlpine Elementary from 1996-2003 (while I was at McAlpine, my second daughter, Kaitlyn, was born). In 2003, I helped open Endhaven Elementary School where I taught third and fourth grade. In 2011, I joined the Teacher Professional Development team as a PD specialist for Title 1 Elementary Literacy.
Some things about me that are not related to where I have worked or what I do...I love country music. My husband works for a country radio station in Charlotte so we get to go to many concerts and I have met numerous country artists. I am very active in my church community. I like to teach the teens (I know what has come over me!). I enjoy spending time with my girls. They are both on the Ardrey Kell Color/Winter Guard so I spend a lot of weekends at competitions. I enjoy watching my girls perform! When I need to just relax and unwind, send me to the mountains. I find peace and joy when I am in the mountains.
